‘The appointments reflect our desire to have a strong and knowledgeable executive team,’ says chief executive
Flood Re has announced a raft of changes to its senior executive team.
The moves include Latinka Pilipovic becoming chief financial officer, Dan Byrne being appointed chief commercial officer and Max Bero taking the role of chief operating officer.
Pilipovic will be joining the Flood Re board as a member from 1 August, taking the place of interim chief financial officer Dave Dunning, who will step down after a handover period.
With over 25 years’ experience working across the UK financial services industry, Pilipovic is making the move from her role as chief financial officer at Guardian Financial Services.
Meanwhile, both Byrne and Bero have been with Flood Re since 2016. Byrne has been promoted from his role as chief risk officer and Bero will be moving from his current position as director of operations.
‘Key positions’
The new hires follow the appointment of Perry Thomas as chief executive in February 2025.

Thomas said: “I am delighted to have been able to promote such a high calibre of talent from within Flood Re to key positions and to have been able to attract a chief financial officer of such experience and knowledge as Pilipovic.
“The appointments reflect our desire to have a strong and knowledgeable executive team in place as we look to address the many challenges and opportunities presented by the impacts of climate change ahead of our exit from the market in 2039.”
